Project: Center for the Arts Jackson, WY. Quality assurance inspection and testing for this project included structural steel inspections, complete concrete placement testing, soil sampling and analysis, nuclear density testing, geotechnical analysis, and surveying.

Nelson Engineering has long held the belief that the implementation of good design requires attentive oversight during construction. One aspect of the oversight is materials testing and quality control inspection. To that end, a quality control testing laboratory has been maintained. Nelson Engineering routinely performs laboratory soils, concrete, and mortar testing. Field testing equipment is also maintained to complete soils and concrete testing, as well as asphalt density testing.

Nelson Engineering personnel maintain certifications and training through attendance at WYDOT, ASTM, and ACI training sessions. The compression machine for breaking cylinders, cores, beams, and prisms is calibrated annually to assure accuracy and consistency.

Nelson Engineering routinely networks with regional laboratory facilities and can arrange for specialty testing if the project requires it.
