Surveys are a critical part of a wide variety of both public and private sector projects. As limited examples—before a public street improvement project can be designed, a survey is necessary; before a house is built, a construction stake-out is required; and to accurately establish a river floodplain, floodplain mapping is essential.
Nelson Engineering’s Surveying Division, consisting of professional and technical personnel, serves both public and private sector clients on projects ranging from complex municipal projects to large master-planned communities and commercial site developments. Our surveying division, working together with our engineering and planning divisions, provides us with the capability to effectively, efficiently, and seamlessly handle all surveying-related projects we encounter.

Nelson Engineering has experience in every type of land surveying—from cadastral (boundary), horizontal and vertical control, to topographic, construction, and as-built surveys. Nelson Engineering also has extensive experience in surface modeling, designing and platting for a wide variety of projects.
Nelson Engineering utilizes state-of-the-art technologies, including, the latest versions of AutoCAD software, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Robotic Total Stations.
