Nelson Engineering has completed numerous transportation planning studies and traffic impact analyses for a variety of clients, ranging from large and small private sector clients to public sector entities (e.g., the Teton County (WY) School District No. 1). Nelson Engineering can perform site-specific access and shared parking studies, trip generation and parking demand analyses, as well as route planning and alignment selection. Nelson Engineering utilizes the traffic count and dimensional data established by the Federal Highway Administration, the State Departments of Transportation, local authorities and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). These industry standards are utilized to generate site-specific vehicle turning movements and dimensional recommendations for all aspects of Transportation Planning.

Nelson Engineering has also been involved in the conceptual development and engineering designs of non-motorized public pathway systems for communities, including Jackson, Worland, and Casper, Wyoming.
