The water supply industry is a service where Engineers will go to great lengths for their clients. Most people take a glass of pure, clear drinking water for granted, in some parts of the world that is not possible. In our country, it is. As a leader in this industry, Nelson Engineering makes it possible to have clean drinking water.

Upon opening our firm in 1964, the first project was to convert the Town of Jackson supply system from a foul, contaminated, surface water source to a pure, clean and dependable water supply system.

During that project Nelson Engineering utilized American Water Works Association Standards when specifying components of the work. In successive water supply projects we became more convinced that AWWA represented the best thought, research, and management philosophy of the water supply industry. Therefore, AWWA plays a significant role in Nelson Engineering’s approach to potable water supply engineering.

Over the years Nelson Engineering has applied the concepts of other water service organizations, such as Rural Water Association and the Wyoming Water Development Commission, in helping municipalities solve water supply problems. The result is listening to the client’s needs, evaluating the client’s problem, and communicating to the client a plan of action based on industry standards and dependable engineering design.
